Larger SL1 with mono screen?
According to the recent Prusa blog a larger SL1 with a mono screen is in the works:

RE: Larger SL1 with mono screen?
Ugh. If they are going with a larger screen that effectively means there is no upgrade path for us like they have historically done for the i3s ☹
If that is true that will be another one of the driving reasons that I went with the SL1 that has failed to materialize (at least I went in knowing that was a guess on my part, but I thought it a safe one).
RE: Larger SL1 with mono screen?
I would be happy if they came up with a mono screen upgrade for the SL1. Beyond that I don’t care for a larger printer.
RE: Larger SL1 with mono screen?
Well they didn't say that there would *not* be a mono upgrade for the SL1 so one can still hope for an upgrade path.
I might be interested in upgrading to the new larger SL2 (or whatever it is called) but am afraid the resale value of the SL1 would be very low considering what's available in the market.

The only reason I still have my SL1 is because $900 seems to be about the best to expect for a used SL1+CW1😔
While there are some things I like about the SL1, it is seriously overpriced for what we get. They need some major upgrades to make an SL2 worthwhile if we assume the SL1's price is a gauge for where they'll put it. Simply making it bigger and switching to a mono screen would still leave it over priced at the SL1's price point.
Hopefully they do offer a mono screen upgrade for the SL1. Showing that it's not a dead platform would actually go a long way to improving my opinion.

I agree. I recently received my SL1 (a little more than a week ago). I bought it on black Friday which was still overpriced but the 200E reduced price, free shipping and 50E extra resin allowed me to bite the bullet and go for it. Is still overpriced but one of the "benefits" was that they could be some upgradability on some components. I know is not a reprap project but i cannot see the reason for not being able to offer a 4k mono screen of SL1s size. For the excess in price that they are asking they could at least keep the upgradability whenever possible.
RE: Larger SL1 with mono screen?
Prusa stands for best price/quality ratio FDM printers, but SL1 is not one of these. Its quality and support is not excuse for the high pricetag. Their brand and customer loyality built on MK's was major purchase factor for SL1's.
I would like, but I got no reason to go for their MSLA printers unless they are twice cheaper, like SL1 for 500-600euros.
Sigh, I doubt they will ever reduce prices that much...

I agree. The kit costs 1300E more that the assembled Elegoo Mars Pro2 on Amazon. I purchased it on Black Friday for various reasons, one of those being the good support i had with Mk3 and MMU. But unfortunately their support on SL1 is seriously lagging. I opened a call via chat on 13th of January , a few days after assembly, because at some point the printer was beeping at every layer change. The chat operator was really helpful but when we couldn't find a solution she escalated the issue to the development team. After that was downhill with excuses that the development team was busy with other tasks. Today (17 days after) i got the official answer that the resin sensor firmware went through a lot of changes from june 2020 and the beeping is probably the correct behavior since there is no official description of this. And even if in the manual it states that when the resin level is low it will automatically pause printing and asks you for a refill i should just refill when i hear the beep in any case. This is not a customer support that justifies the ovepriced SL1.
At the this time there is nothing to excuse buying SL1. Buy a different resin printer find profiles for prusa slicer and probably buy the cure station CLW1 if you cant find something cheaper outthere.
