Henkel/Loctite & Igus resins on SL1S

Hello all.

For my company, we bought the SL1S bundle mainly to print complex gears.

I wanted to try some of the technical resins from Loctite (3843 HDT60) and Igus (iglidur i3000-PR), but I'm struggling  to setup the parameters.

One data I'm missing is the Light intensity (or Irradiance) value of the SL1S. Where can I get this info?

For instance, for the Loctite 3843 -> 3 mW/cm² to 7 mW/cm² is required

For the Igus iglidur i3000 -> light intensity  3-6 mW/cm² is required

In the future, are Loctite profiles planned to be implemented in Prusaslicer? they are getting a big spot in the resin market.

i do not own a resin printer myself at this time. However, i am following the technological development...

Did you read the data sheet of the Loctite resin?

It says, it is printable on DLP-Resin-Printers. And - more important - UV-wavelength should be 385 nm , while the SL1S uses 405 nm !

So, i would forward this question to the Prusa materials Team. Contact Prusa support!

They should be interested in making these professional Resins printable on SL1S

Hello Stefan,

When I get the resin, I made a test print with the recommended timing for the layers.
The result was not that bad, just some werd surface waves.

You are indeed right, the wavelength is not the recommended one but seems to be reactive (the post-curing accepts the UV LED @405nm acc. to the spec sheet). That maybe explains the surface distortion.

Part printed at 45° with supports for best surface quality (auto setting in PrusaSlicer).

Otherwise, the tooth surface is good, geometry is respected. Material stress (strength and abrasion) will be done in the near future.

Any luck on figuring this out? I've been looking into buying these (I'm a tinkerer/product developer), and wondering how it performs.

I was also wondering if Loctite IND405 would work on an SL1s.

In the data sheet, it does not state what wavelength it works for, other than it should be used in an industrial DLP printer and use an intensity: 3 mW/cm² to 7 mW/cm

This would be useful as Loctite IND405 seems to be one of few resins that have ISO 10993-1 i.e. it does not cause any skin irritation e.g. as a wearable ring
