No USB Flash drives readable after a few day

I upgraded my MK3S+ to MK3.5 a week ago. First everything was fine. Upgraded firmware to 6.0.0 and printed some stuff.

After 2 days, the USB Flash drive, that sticked in the printer the whole time, was not recognized any more. I pulled the thumbs drive out and plugged it in again - voila, it was recognized again. But the printer was neither able to read anything from the drive (it showed an empty drive) nor write something on it (via Prusa Link or Prusa Connect).

Tried several different thumb drives - all having the same issue on the MK3.5. On the PC the thumb drives worked just fine. All were formated with FAT32.

In a kind of desperation I made a hard factory reset, and of course the printer still couldn't read anything from an attached thumb drive - so he wasn't able to load a firmware and errors out 🙁

I contacted prusa support and after some fiddeling around, they claimed to send a new LCD unit.

I received the new LCD unit today together with a new ribbon cable. I swapped both. But the error is still there. The printer cannot read the firmware from a thumb drive. Tried again several drives with both firmware 5.2.1 and 6.0.0

Any clues? Is a culprit other than the xbuddy board conceivable?

ok, some news here:

Prusa reached back to me and assured me, the xBuddy Board could not be the culprit for the issue. So I tested some more USB sticks and found finally one, that worked. So my MK35 is up and running again.

You might connect the printer to a laptop/PC with USB-cable. Install octoprint on the laptop.
Gives you a lot more data and control.

We will do what we have always done. We will find hope in the impossible.

I had octoprint running on a Raspberry Zero 2 before the upgrade. And yes, I have to admit, that I'm quite disappointed with PrusaLink/PrusaConnect compared to Octorprint.
