how does BBF work with MK3.5S+ for a firmware update

I am unable to find the hex file for the latest firmware update 6.0.4

I seem to only get to download a BBF and I am uncertain as to how that gets me a hex file that a can flash

If you have and SD slot on the left of the screen, then you don't have a MK3.5.  The MK3.5 upgrade kit replaces the Rambo with the Buddy board, and a new screen that has a USB port on the right side.

It sounds like you just have a MK3 that you at least partially upgraded to a MK3s+.  The MK3.5 is a completely different machine.

I believe you need this firmware seen below.

Save the BBF on the MK3.5 USB stick, plug it into your printer and turn it on. The upgrade should now be offered.

I have a printer cord input and a SD input.  No stick input (thumb drive I assume)

Then you don't have MK3.5, check for MK3S(+) when downloading the firmware. Or another printer? Make sure you know what model you really have.

First off thank you for your answers so far.

I do have a prusa Frankenstein that started life as a M the K3.  I may have only upgraded partially with the 3.5S+ hotend

I have only two ways in with this printer - the printer USB at the top of the Rambo - The SD slot

I went back and downloaded the firmware for only a 3.5 and once again, it is in a BBF format

My procedure to update the firmware is to download a .hex, then flash it

I'm stuck  - what's the procedure?
