Fails self test - x axis length

I needed to change one of the print fans and now it fails self test with x axis length issues. I've tried everything i can see or have read about but nothing solves my problem. I briefly tried to find some place to take this to but haven't found anything apart from some place in CO.

I'll ask here if there is anyone from southern RI that might care to come and check this out. I'm about at my wits end end I'd really like to get back to printing.I could bring the printer to you also if that works better for  you.

Thanks, Ray

RE:

What does the machine do on the X-axis test:
- moves to the left untill the endswitch is reached, and activated, and sets this point to X=0.

+ Does the end-switch function? Can you activate it by hand? (when it is doing the X-axis test, activate the switch when it is almost (1-2 cm) there.
+ Is the X-end-switch placed correctly (probably because it is tightened firmly to that spot).
+When the X-axis test is done, and the machine "feels" resistance (because something is stuck, or it has to move too far to the left), it gives an error .
This could happen, because cables are in the way, a part of the printhead is touching something), best to check is to turn machine off and move the printhead by hand and feel if there is resistance when doing.
+ Check what part of the printhead should touch the X-endswitch. (I have a MK 2.5 and there where changes to firmware over time and some mods to the machine, and I had the same error. I had to add a little block (lego :-)) to the printhead to make the endswitch touch 1 cm earlier. (probably because the firmware did not have an option for this combination.

We will do what we have always done. We will find hope in the impossible.
