Error Message at end of Print

Hello all.  I have been using my mk3.5 with mmu3 for a while now and for some reason the printer has started to display the message in the picture above at the end of every print . The strange about this is that this happens even if I have mmu disabled and am using a pre loaded filament is single colour mode. I have changed the footer to show the status of the filament sensor and sensor on mmu3.  I am not having any problems or errors with printing or filament swaps at all everything is working perfectly it’s just that I get this message at the end of every print.  I have checked and re checked the sensors and they are working perfectly as far as I can tell and I don’t get any error messages coming up at all.  I would love to know how printer determines there has been an error does anyone have experience with the firmware they can look at the code and maybe give me some insight .  David

I get this too. There also doesn't seem to be a way of clearing it (via the settings).

Just going to do an upgrade to 6.0.1 to see if that has any effect

RE: Error Message at end of Print

Hi thanks for letting me know .  I already installed 6.01 it did not make a difference for me.

if enough of us let Prusa know hopefully they will provide a solution.  I have some some posts on Facebook and a couple of users say they think it’s programmed to a non volatile register which is why it does not go away.

I get this too.  I thought it might have been due to an accumulation of loading errors when I first installed the MMU and didn't have it dialled-in properly, and that I therefore needed to reset that counter now that everything is running reliably.  Prusa Support told me that there's no such continuous counter - it only counts since the last power up - and therefore he suggested that I must have a genuine loading problem.  But as per the OP, this happens even if I'm not doing colour changes.  I power up, load a single filament without error, then print, and I still get the error.

I did do as suggested in the error message, and checked the main plate, and it all seems to be fine as far as I can tell.

EDIT: In my case, it's a Mk4 that's giving the error.

A few people have said the same or similar.  I am coming to the conclusion it’s a firmware issue and that eventually / hopefully Prusa will get enough feedback to identify a solution.

thank you for taking the time to reply.

I think if your mmu or extruder fillament sensor s3nses no fillament even for a second during printing you get this. On 6.0.0 i have never seen this and have mk3.5 mmu3.

Please help me out by downloading a model it's free and easy but really helps me out https://www.printables.com/@Hello_474427/models

RE: Error Message at end of Print - UPDATE

I have been so fed up with getting this message and PRUSA have not helped so today I decided to bite the bullet and try a factory reset of all settings.  I previously did not want to go through setup again but the logic of this message being stored in non volatile memory makes sense .

any way I tried three prints with mmu disabled and filament pre loaded and NO ERROR MESSAGE was  displayed !

so I enabled MMU and tried a full five colour test print and the result was ….  NO ERROR MESSAGE was displayed !

so it seems that the errors are stored and no cleared after a power down as PRUSA a indicated to someone .

Hopefully this can be resolved in a firmware change sometime but for now I am happy with this as a work around

Thank you for testing this.  It seems like you've confirmed the non-volatile memory theory.

In case you haven't seen the other thread about this, @cupajoe24 has found an option in the firmware to clear this counter/bit.

There's a reset in "Settings > Hardware > Nextruder Maintenance"

The mk3.5 does not have this option

Ah, of course - Nextruder!

It's interesting that your MK3.5 generates an error message that's advising you to check the Nextruder main plate.  I guess the firmware developers could do with a nudge via github to change that message for printers that don't have a Nextruder, and to provide a UI method to clear the counter/bit that generates it.

I pointed this out to Prusa support but it seems that at this time they do not yet accept this is a problem or bug.

Where did you point this out? Unless you reported it on the Prusa firmware GitHub repository at https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware then it isn't likely to go anywhere.

I did report phone the phone today and was told it would be passed on to developers.  However to make sure I have posted a big report as you suggested. Thank you for the link and suggestion David

Good. Having worked with many development teams in my career, I can attest that when something is "passed on" to the developers, nothing happens unless that communication occurs in the bug tracker, because that's where the developers work from. I never encountered anyone in a development organization who fixed a bug based on an email or a chat message, because you can't track them. The person reporting it needs to report it in the tracking tool that the developers use.
