RE: Original Prusa i3 MK3S/+ to MK3.5 upgrade kit is out.
Thank you all - parts ordered
RE: Original Prusa i3 MK3S/+ to MK3.5 upgrade kit is out.
Saw this upgrade and thought why not! Went on the page, ordered the bits and some said shipment expected within a week. Not a problem, ship those bits and the other bits all at the same time. Here's my payment details, take my money. A week ago ....
Today, went on to check status and order is expected to be shipped ............. 1st APRIL!! REALLY!
Since when was a week two months? Ordering from Prusa it seems! Happy to take my money but not provide the goods in the timeframe expected!
RE: Original Prusa i3 MK3S/+ to MK3.5 upgrade kit is out.
When I went on the other day looking for the extra parts I saw that the upgrade kit was out of stock - perhaps they sold the last one while you were ordering - or is it a FedEx problem?
RE: Original Prusa i3 MK3S/+ to MK3.5 upgrade kit is out.
Maybe they could then communicate to the buyer that it's out of stock?
it's called customer service, something Prusa seems to have dropped the ball on.

Mine said the same thing and shipped in a week.

RE:
I received mine with MMU3 cable yesterday.
I will install the kit in the coming days (or weeks) as soon as I will have a calm day and time to work on it.
I have a problem with the MMU3 tuning (I think the chimney position moved), and now it fails to sense the filament, and I want to fix and have it work as MMU3+MK3S+ before attempting the 3.5 upgrade.

My printer installed. My x-axis failed, and the thermistor would not register on the nozzle. I think my thermistor was from Slice Engineering. I am replacing it this weekend.

Upgrade instructions:
I have the old style (3 screws) heatbed.
Do I really have to "upgrade" to the new heatbed model?
Apart from the physical connections and layout are there different heaters, sensors, voltages, changes on the new one?
PS:
I have proper crimpers and silver solder facilities to make the new high current connections.
Cheers and thanks.

RE: Original Prusa i3 MK3S/+ to MK3.5 upgrade kit is out.
I originally bought my MK3 in 2019 and have been very pleased with it. The only issues have been of my own making. Over the years I have upgraded it to MK3S and then MK3S+. I have also installed a Revo 6 extruder.
With the recent implementation of speed improvements I decided a few weeks ago to upgrade again to MK3.5. Prusa have done their usual great job on detailing the upgrade process. Unfortunately there is one issue with the Firmware which I hadn't foreseen and until there is an approved fix I would not advocate installing the upgrade. This issue makes it practically impossible to perform a first layer calibration:
https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues/3772
Having chatted to Prusa support I understand that a fix is being tested and should be released before the end of the month i.e. March '24.

@timW thanks for that. i upgraded my Mk3S + MMU2 firmware last tear and it was ..... awful!
ended up going back to the old fw as that worked fine. Seems Prusa might make decent printers but their firmware is sadly lacking.
my upgrade kit has been dispatched but it might live in a box for while until they fix the software.
