MK3.5 to MK3.9 kit? 😩

So my REVO heater core decided to poop the bed a week before my MK3.5 kit arrived, so I had to install my old hotend to print the parts required for the upgrade.

I had a look around and it seems there are quite a few people having issues with the heater core dying, and that e3d had replaced them. Great I thought, shot off an email to support, and was told to bugger off...

The only reason I didn't go to the MK3.9 was because I have quite a bit of money in REVO, and the nozzles. Not cheap getting them over in Australia.

Now, e3d can suck it, not going to send any more money their way after this BS. The main reason I tried the REVO was the blockages I was getting with the standard hotend. It solves all my problems, produced great prints, and also heated up quicker.

As it's been around a while, can people who have had both compare the REVO to the Nextruder? I saw an image last night while doomscrolling of a Prusa nozzle leaking where pressed together, anyone had this happen?

Guess I need to see if I can get the components needed to get my MK3.5 to a 3.9 without having to eat poop too hard... 😅 DAMN IT!

RE: MK3.5 to MK3.9 kit ! 😩

I would also like to upgrade from MK3.5 to 3.9 because I believe that both the firmware and the PrusaSlicer support the MK3.9 much better than the MK3.5. In my experience, the adaptation to the MK3.5 is both patchy and a bit of a hassle. (e.g. BedLeveling etc.).

RE: MK3.5 to MK3.9 kit? 😩

Asking the support about the upgrade path MK3.5 --> MK3.9, I got the following answer:

"I'm sorry to hear that the MK3.5 upgrade kit does not meet your expectations. We don't have the upgrade option from MK3.5 to MK3.9.

In this case, it is possible technically to make this upgrade using individual parts from our Eshop, but we don't recommend this path because we don't have a specific parts list or assembly instructions.

Despite this, we are collecting all the requirements to develop this specific upgrade and share with our teams to evaluate, and it could be possible to have it available in the future."

I replied:

"To date, Prusa has commendably provided an upgrade path for each device generation/variant to the successor devices. Why not for the MK3.5?

If the upgrade to MK3.5 leads to a dead end, you should no longer offer this upgrade option to your customers, as customers rely on the previous practice.

It would be very kind if you could pass this message on to your management."

RE:

Newest reply from Prusa Support:

"Your request to share this matter with our management was already shared last Friday.

It's possible to have an upgrade kit from 3.5 to 3.9, but nothing confirmed yet.

Thank you for your suggestions, they are always very important to us."

Let's be hopeful...

That is good news.. Hopefully it is available soon. When my revo is dead I would like to also go this path.
