New heatbed not needed!

When ordering my MK3.5 upgrade I was wondering, why the newer version of the headbed is needed. I did not want to spend and extra 90$ to replace a perfectly working part, so I asked Prusa. They told me, that it is possible to use the old heatbed but as the cables are soldered, knowlege on how to safely solder "high current" power cables is needed. I was willing to try, so I ordered the upgrade without the new heatbed. After doing the upgrade I can say: You can reuse the old heatbed without soldering anything. The crimp terminals of the old heatbed power cables fit on the screw terminals of the xBuddy board. There is no need to change the heatbed or the cables. I just wanted to share this information for anyone wondering if the new heatbed is realy needed. And I am curious, why Prusa is reccomending a new heatbed.

By the way: The MK3.5 upgrade is amazing!

I suspect that Prusa is unable to assure that DIY solutions are completed satisfactorily. and choose a safe route.

I Have successfully replaced soldered wires on a number of Prusa Early Heatbeds...  but it required better than the average soldering irons...
When I replaced wires, I used Flexible Silicone insulated wires of the same cross sectional area as the originals.  this reduces the likelihood of follow on repairs
