Suddenly its asking every filament change...

Was working fine for a long time and now every filament change its requiring me to hit the knob and choose a filament and have it load it and check that its extruding and all that... I checked my sensors and they're fine and reading as intended... any thoughts of what else I can check?

Update:
Prusa live help couldn't find an answer after we searched through gcode and played with the sensors.  This issue has been sent up to the bosses to see if they can figure out what's going on.  No answers yet.  Seems random, no layer height it's prone to doing this on, no timeframe, just random.  Anyone else having this issue?

I had something similar but it quickly became clear it was the filament sensor (the one in the idler). Probably I damaged the cable when building the MMU3. Luckily I had a spare sensor.

RE: Suddenly its asking every filament change...

I have not had this specific issue, but it sounds like the chip on the EINSY board for the MMU is losing state and resetting, which can happen if power to the board is not steady. A couple of things you can try:

1 ) check the power cable connections between your MMU and your printer and make sure they are stable with no corrosion.

2) supply external power to your MMU from a stable 5V source through the port on the right hand side.

Good luck!

Prusa is MK4S w/ MMU3 (formerly MK4 / MMU3, MK3S+/MMU2), 2 Prusa MINI+, Octoprint. PETG, PVB, (some) PLA.

I have the same error but only when loading the filament for the first time. When I start a print job, the loading position is moved to after calibration and the loading process is stopped and I have to remove the old filament.

I had this exact issue this week and it turned out to be the extruder filament sensor housing was loose. I assumed i had tightened when calibrating but perhaps not. I re-calibrated and tighten and no issues since.

I did that and even replaced the sensor entirely. It worked better for a couple prints then the issue came right back.

Ended up returning it. Not worth screwing around with it when I can just buy a Bambu labs set up instead for cheaper and not have this headache.
