Slicer MMU Painting

Hi,

Sometimes when I download models from Thingiverse or Printables, I am able to hover over something using multi-material painting and I can select it even if it's at the same Z-height using smart painting. How can I design models like this on my own if Autodesk Fusion? Thanks!!

Interesting, the first time I have player with the feature, I always design the colour as seperate parts in CAD, with Fusion and OnShape this will probably be the easiest method too...

The smart paint function floods as far as the nearest sharp change of plane, the trigger angle between panes is settable - so, to demark areas of a plane insert a narrow, shallow slot, or ridge, between them. The gap can be very small, pehaps so small that it will be unnoticed in the physical print.

As I say, an interseting feature but not much benefit for anyone designing their own parts in CAD as it requires at least as much work as designing colour parts the old way.

Cheerio,

Almost my question, too. Except I use OnShape. I'm think any help on this subject would apply to most CAD programs. (?)
