Running out of filament, how to eject?

If i run out of filament during a print, the filament is retracted back to the mmu3 and the following message appears on the display:

"remove old filament and press the knob to start loading new filament"

Is there any way to remove the old filament without disconnecting the ptfe tube from the back of the MMU? It would be sensible to allow ejecting the filament from the front of the MMU but there is no option on the display - there is no access to the Eject menu.

RE: Running out of filament, how to eject?

I was just looking up this same question to understand how to remove the remaining filament when it runs out.  Any responses?
