One specific Prusament Filament will not load; All other filaments load without an issue. Is it a programming issue?

I have an MK3 with the MMU3. I've used Prusament, California Filament, and other brands, PLA and PETG without this problem. I recently purchased Prusament PETG Galaxy Black (1.75). I have used Prusament PLA Galaxy Black, along with other colors, and Prusament PETG, along with others. This is the first time I've used this specific type/color.

This one reel will not load to the nozzle. It doesn't matter what position I use. All other filaments load with no issues.

Here are some of the things I've tried...

* Tried other filaments/filament types (PLA/PETG)-- all load in all positions (1-5) EXCEPT this one Prusament Filament.

* I've pulled out a ton of filament to *feel* for any obvious inconsistencies in the filament (haven't found any)

* I checked the tension of the filament (how difficult it is to pull into/by the MMU). I didn't find an issue but I have tried multiple different loading configurations, just in case there was too much tension specific between the MMU and the reel.

* I've tried loading it will all other MMU positions filled (5 preloaded to MMU), when only a few positions were filled, and when no other positions were used.

* The temperature requirement for this filament is higher than most of my Prusament PETGs, so I've tried several different temperatures for preloading to the nozzle.

* I've put it in a Sunlu dryer for 6 hours...just in case....then tried all of the above over again...

What else can I try? Has anyone else had an issue like this? If I had an issue with a generic filament I would chalk this up to a learning moment...

Thanks,

Kat

Hi, this is more of an MMU question than a prusalink one

I eill move your post there

Where does it get stuck? I would try monitoring the filament sensors to see, whether the finda and the fsensor get triggered reliably, but i am not that experienced in MMU troubleshooting, so please if anyone knows what's up, feel free to respond 😉

Fixed.

It turned out that a bolt on the extruder, mounting it to the chassis was too tight. This is the bolt that holds the idler door in place.

The reason that the Prusa filament did not work was because it was slightly larger in circumference and firmer.

When I solved this problem almost every issue I have had regarding filament changing errors, jamming, failure to feed for any reason... all of these issues went away. It was affecting a lot of things.

Since owning the MMU I have had a lot of problems printing, I thought a lot of issues were due to the filament tips. It turns out that the tip can be pretty awful and it will run without errors if the idler door can move! I'm sure it said somewhere that this bolt couldn't be too tight, alas I missed that memo somewhere along the way.
