Proper way to pre-load filament on the MMU3 device
Hello,
Is it just me or every time I need to pre-load filaments, I have to open the MMU3 cover, and properly align the filaments on their proper place?
If I just try to insert them from the back, and use the "automatic" load they just miss the proper PTFE tube location on the MMU3 unit and end up being loaded outside of the tube that passes through the PINDA sensor.
This is very annoying, but it is a simple process, just open the cover, align the filaments, then close the cover, go to the printer's menu and select pre load MMU for each filament slot - done. Is this how it is suppose to be?

Yes, it still fits. Just longer PTFE tube engagement.
When using just one color with the MMU in the Prusaslicer, no filament tower is made. It doesn't show up after slicing.

I understand what you are talking about. I curremtly don't have to open the MMU to load the filament but I make sure the PTFE tubes enter straight. You should be able to enable Load to MMU and then push the filament through the PTFE tube until the feed gears in the MMU catch.
The MMU3 can still have problems loading when there is a bend in the PTFE tube just before you enter the MMU. The filament has a twist stress and may not load easily or twist out as described. This mod is a block to hold the tubes straight for a distance before entering the MMU. When I used it I scaled the one axis 200% to double the working length. Eventually I adjusted how the PTFE tubes fed the MMU3 so they go straight in for 4"/100mm or more before entering the MMU. Some notes on a horizontal MMU mounting and MK4s

Another question, when you use the MMU3 and would like to print just a single color print, will ti crate the filament purge tower even if just using a single color?
I tried to do 200% on the Z axis like you said... but I noticed it kinda stretches the base a lot too, will it fit? also I noticed that filament tower there as well...
