Problem with very curled filament
I have a problem when printing with end of spool, where the filament have a short curl memory and spring effect.
the filament leaving the PTFE tube guide somehow get curled between the exit of PTFE tube and the selector, jamming the MMU.
Here is the original design of this location
here is what I am intend to do to fix the problem, this is WITH the blades
Or another option is to remove the blades and have more 'guide' for the filament
Let me know what do you think about the 'mods' ?
RE: Problem with very curled filament
Hi, this is one of the nightmare of the MMU since the beginning, but then there is the other:
When the filament pass your point and fits under the pressure roll bearing & gear, and normally it fits in the second hole that brings to the exit toward the selector. But if the filament is curled, there is no way it wants to fit the hole that is parallel, due to excessive arc of the filament, and it goes up. The only way to fit is open the cover and use a pliers to fit it into the hole.
