Without respect

I joined Prusa with the MK4 and after waiting 3 and a half months to get it, I began to understand that what is said around is all a false myth, BambuLab but also Creality are far superior, here they sell a product that they don't even produce yet, in fact speaking of the MK4 I don't know if others have also noticed that 2021 is written on the card so they put an obsolete card into a 2023 printer just to release a product that people have been asking for for a long time. It took them 2 years to deliver the XL to whoever purchased it, without forgetting the mmu2 which never worked as they advertised. I honestly can't wait to sell my MK4 to buy something much better. Completely disappointed by PRUSA which I respected very much for their open-source policy.

P.S. Order for mmu3 canceled as the last update was at the end of October.

As an owner of an MK4, Xl, X1C, and P1S, I can tell you this is a false statement.  Each printer has it’s strengths but none are far superior to the other.   I use them every day and really like each one.

Mine wasn't a comparison between MK4, X1C or K1!!!

It's between PRUSA - BABULAB - CREALITY I thought I was clear.

As Joan said, this forum is mainly for the community and Prusa members rarely read here. Afaik the mk4 mmu has now finished beta test and they have just begun finalizing the product, so it shouldn't take too long anymore.

Hello, thanks for the information. Where can you track to know that they have completed the beta phase?

I've been talking to the devs about it. I asked Josef as well if he can write an official update / twitter comment about the current state and I hope he will do it soon.

RE:

You mean good support, fair support, and nonexistent support, respectively.  I guess you were clear.

Quick delivery only matters if the printer works and you can get support.

Just got this from the help chat when I asked for an update on my MMU3 order

Hi Jeff, we are still running tests with the MK4 variant of the MMU3 to ensure it is as reliable as the MK3S+ version we may hear good news by the end of the month once the results of these test are complete so far the latest version seems very promising

I find it extremely annoying that no information comes from the official side.A small addition to the blog article would be enough. But unfortunately we are not used to anything else from Prusa.

On the other hand, it doesn't make it any faster 😉

Indeed, the communication policy needs a lot of improvement on Prusa's side. But they seem to have been able to solve all issues and they are now finalizing the product, so hopefully the long wait will be worth it.

Their communication really needs some help.  The blog article was excellent and greatly appreciated but lack of followup outweighed that with disappointment and some frustration.  I certainly prefer them to not release the product until it works well.  The reason I've been so fond of Prusa is the reliable, just works, nature of their products in the past.  The communication on this unit has truly diminished my brand loyalty and has me considering more options for future purchases.  Feeling like I'm being strung along on this one.  I cancelled an order for a second MK4 while I give better consideration to some other options.  The MK4 is probably my favourite printer(MK4,V2.4, V0.2,SV06, Frankenstein Ender3) due to the ease of getting a good print between the printer and PrusaSlicer.  If they can continue that same experience with the added MMU3 it will be great.  Hoping the MMU3 is out or finalized with some "good news" at the end of the month.  But I'm eyeing the competition VERY closely at this point.

If I really needed the MMU, I would be really annoyed.

But I want to keep the MK4 for the long term. And I trust Prusa to get it right in the end. I also believe that the MK4 will get a few more updates and become even better.

MMU is very much a want but if I had know this would still be a work in progress many months after my MK4 purchase, I definitely would not have sold my MK3S+ and would have used that as an MMU3 machine.   I'm not sure I trust they will get it right in the end but I'm semi-optimistic about it based on MK3S+ MMU3 users and the blog post detailing the fact that they are making efforts to get it right.

To be fair, he is part of the firmware dev team and perhaps have additional info. But it's all hearsay anyway, we want some official statement from Prusa about the status.

It's been almost 6 months since they announced they were starting to ship MMU3 units.

Not being part of the firmware dev team, but I work closely with them on GH issues and write fw enhancements. If there is any further delay, which I don't expect at this point, it's because it is my fault as I wrote enhancements that interfer with the MMU3 (as I also cannot test it due to waiting for it), which was sadly the case today 🤣. But I promise to fix them fast.

My biggest frustration here is that Prusa is starting to handle sales of new products like kickstarter. Selling products with an announced release date when they haven't achieved acceptable results is wrong. I like Prusa a lot, and I'm willing to pay the premium because they put the effort into well engineered products that are reliable and long lasting. This marketing strategy is losing them loyal customers. Prusa really needs to have their products ready to release before they start selling them, even for preorder. Or, at the very least, list preorders with an obvious disclaimer that the product is still in testing and development so that buyers know what they're getting into.

I canceled my MMU3 for Mk4 order after waiting several months and got on the preorder for the MMU4 for Mk4.

The option of 8 filaments, chilled perfect tips and no waste tower really convinced me to skip MMU3 and just go with the MMU4.

They've said it will be shipping in just a few months... and I want to get it before summer.

I would love to see the website for the mmu4! I am so very interested in this and would love to get on the MMU(4) preorder as well!

You have misunderstood something. It will not be the MMU4 but they will call it PMMS (Prusa Multi Material System). They have announced it and it will be delivered on Friday (today). Always perfect tips, only 75% waste. It couldn't be more efficient. The price is also a fighting announcement, only 799€ (without plastic parts). And since Prusa is now more environmentally conscious, nothing comes in plastic bags but everything is delivered loose in a box. They have already tested it for 5000000h in their print farm and it works reliably with 10 filament changes. It is a game changer in the 3D printing sector.
