How to tell the mmu3 what filaments are loaded.
Is there a place in prusaslicer I can get an overview of the filments presently loaded in the mmu3? and set them.
Example. I now have loaded Esun pla in position 2. Thats it. no other filaments present.
On the mmu3, under Manage filaments, loaded filaments it shows:
Position 1: Dark. I can't even choose it. What's that about?
Position 2: PLA (preset)
and the same with the other 3 postions. PLA (preset).
I then try to send a print to the printer from prusaslicer. One filament, Esun pla, and prusaslicer say that "The loaded filament does not match the one specified in the print file. Proceed anyway?"
Why?
RE: How to tell the mmu3 what filaments are loaded.
on My Mk3 Printer with MMU3, the Printer has a list of filaments that it is expecting
when the Gcode for a model (usually Bgcode on the Mk3.9 and Mk4 printers) is loaded, the printer compares the filaments specified in the Bgcode, against what it has in it's internal list. and if there is a difference, it alerts the user with the message and the LCD Screen offers an option to revise the internal list to match what the Bgcode is advising,
the bottom option on the LCD Display, is the option to change the internal list, held by the printer

Ok. Right. Thank you.
Is there a way to send filament info from prusaslicer to be stored on the printer?
So I don't have to write every "custom" filament manually directly on the printer?
Or is it simpler just to get the warning. Double check all filaments are where they should be and ignore the warning?

If you get the warning, and respond by changing the filaments in the list, then next time the filaments will match.

It seems to me the printer doesn't check the list of actually used tools, and Prusa Slicer has no option to set an Extruder / Tool / Filament as "not loaded". Can't say I like this as the warning can be quite critical (wrong temperature can cause quite a mess) but I've gotten used to click it away when committing the job.

It feels like it's an unfinished system. Controlling what filaments are are where, or not.
But also the fact that there is no "stop what you are doing" function when things go wrong.
I had an instant now where the filament couldn't enter the extruder. It had broken off inside the extruder. So it was pushed back and forth between the idler and the extruder, with no way to stop it. Except the reset button.
It usually works quite ok. But it's far from perfect. Sadly.

in just about any aspect except when I'm taking finished prints out of the door. Which, everything said and done, tends to fulfil generally accepted baseline requirements on a "door". Wait, what's that. The handle fell off. Oops.
Understandable why people are getting annoyed at the oak-box escapades.

On the front panel, bottom right. Much more convenient than pulling the plug (same result, though).
RE: How to tell the mmu3 what filaments are loaded.
I have a reset button.
What I miss is a software solution to stop the current operations.
RE: How to tell the mmu3 what filaments are loaded.
... but just to put all the Prusa-bashing in context, it's just fair to point out I'm actually happy with my Core one + MMU, rough ends or not.
Below, today's print job. 8h runtime, 6 (!) grams of wasted filament. There is some color bleed in the top yellow so I might dial up that number slightly. Still, not too unhappy. And that's cheap, non-branded ASA.
RE: How to tell the mmu3 what filaments are loaded.
Oh I'm certainly not bashing 😆 I love my mk4s. I spent a week building it into a cupboard, with the MMU, so the missus is not too annoyed by clutter.
A polish would be nice though. I've had few situations where the MMU is working overtime trying to do something that it physically can't. A Stop button would be a bit less stressful than a full reset... Anyway... That's a nice print! ✌🏻

Oh but I am! Corporations needs that, sometimes. They can handle it 😀
