RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
yep, best to make sure. I think it'll be easier to get to mk4 first. That's the way I'm leaning.
Actually, I have an upgrade on order as well, to upgrade my MK3S+ to the MK4. I will contact support now, since I don't want new issues to arise with the MMU3 on the MK3S+ not being compatible with the MK4 upgrade.
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
Here is a copy of my conversation with support. I have cancelled my order.
Marek 07:31 am Hello. How may I help you?David 07:31 am Hi Marek, Marek 07:31 am Hey there.David 07:33 am I received an "in stock" notice this morning about the MMU3 for the MK3S+. I went ahead and ordered one, but I also have an upgrade to the MK4 on order for the same printer.Does this mean that the MMU3 will need to be changed again when the MK4 upgrade eventually arrives?Marek 07:35 am I am afraid we do not have the exact details yet, but I suspect that if there will be a hardware change, it will be just a signal cable or a similar part.David 07:37 am OK, so is it safe to leave my order for the MMU3 for the MK3 stand, knowing that it will be fairly easy to switch it to the MK4 when the upgrade arrives?Marek 07:37 am I would say so, yes. David 07:38 am Phew Actually, you don't seem very sure about this, is there someone you can check with?Marek 07:40 am The exact details are not shared yet, but once the version for the MK4 is ready, we should be able to tell for sure.David 07:44 am That's all well and good, but I have orders for both the MMU3 for the MK3S+ and an upgrade to a MK4 for the same machine. I don't want to find out down the track, that it is going to cost me extra.Marek 07:45 am It will probably require some other parts to transfer the MMU3 from the MK3S+ to the MK4, but we are not able to tell which ones just yet.David 07:46 am Will these parts be included in the MK4 upgrade, or will they need something extra?Marek 07:46 am They most likely won't be included.David 07:48 am Is that a round about way of saying that yes you will need something extra that's not included in the MK4 upgrade, and that you will need to pay for freight as well?Marek 07:50 am The MMU3 for the MK3S+ wont be compatible with the MK4, and you will probably need some parts that are not included in the MK3S/+ to MK4 or the MMU2S to MMU3 upgrade kit.David 07:51 am Another freight charge, aside from any extra parts, adds over $200.00au to the order. It sounds like I should cancel my pending order for the MMU3, pending clarification of this.Marek 07:54 am If you want to be sure about all the details regarding the MMU3 and the MK4, I would suggest waiting till this version of the MMU is ready as well.David 07:54 am OK, I will now cancel this order.Marek 07:55 am Alright.David 07:58 am The order has now been cancelled. Thanks Marek. Marek 08:01 am You are welcome. Sorry we do not have more information at the moment.David 08:03 am That's OK, but it might be worthwhile putting a note for any people who order that it won't be compatible with a future MK4 upgrade.Otherwise you might have a lot of support conversations like this.Marek 08:05 am I already sent this suggestion to the right department. Thank you. David 08:05 am Cheers - until next time then.Read Marek 08:06 am Have a good one!
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
Safer move cancelling I think. I think I'll unrig my mmu2s when I upgrade the MK3S->MK4 and *maybe* later do an mmu3.
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
So it takes almost 12 hours to send the email alerts??? That is what I'm seeing from a post on another thread.
Just got an email that the MMU3s are up for ordering.

RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
In my case, I think it was the time difference at play. We are GMT+10 here in Australia, it was about 6:30am on the 28th July, when I placed the order.
RE: Do we have a date for MMU3 and upgrades MMU2s to MMU3?
I received the e-mail from Prusa at 5:30am the same day.

16904865XX is my order number, which is time based. Frankly, I can't convert all these time zones, so the order number with out the last two digits is with in a minute or two of the order time.

I have a MMU2S that's been... tetchy ever since I bought it. Flashed the MMU3 firmware on it, and so far, so good. A few hiccups here and there, but overall better performance than before. I need to install the new sensor tower, too.
