PTFE tubes: to cut, or not to cut?
Dear Experts,
I'm in the final stages of putting together my MK4S with the Original Enclosure and MMU3.
Many of the flexible PTFE tubes that are to carry filament from the spools to the cassettes seem to be very long and would be neater if trimmed.
With cutting being an irreversible operation, I thought I'd seek advice before getting the scissors out.... Should I?
RE:
Get a tubing cutter, don't use scissors. It'll leave a damaged end on the tube. They are only a few dollars.
As far as if you should cut them I have no idea as I didn't have an MMU.
RE: PTFE tubes: to cut, or not to cut?
Thanks.
I'll follow your advice.

If you cut one, and try it, you can still print a joiner sleeve and repair it if necessary
I cut the tubes on my MMU2 and it worked better...

RE: PTFE tubes: to cut, or not to cut?
I had to cut mines because of space limitations where I have the printer, so the whole assembly is more compact.
No problems. I've used a sharp knife.

I left the ones between the buffer and MMU3 untouched.
I ordered some extra PTFE tubing and a cutter (it's very cheap) from AliExpress and used that for the lengths between the spools and buffer, since they differ according to my spool placement - so some longer then others. Packed the original ones away in a box just in case I need them in future.
