MMU2S to MMU3 - and the problem is still there

My MMU2s started playing up, it refused to home the idler.  I took a look and found that where the idler attached to the motor shaft there was a crack in it. I'd been thinking of doing the upgrade to an MMU3 anyway and I noticed the improvements to the coupling area so I thought what the heck!  I got the upgrade and I have just finished carefully putting it together.

I turned on my Printer and guess what, it is beeping and saying unable to home idler.  The idler has full movement which makes me suspect that the detection of the stop (presumably by the current rising) is not working.  That would be consistent as the kit did not come with a new board, which I initially thought it would.  As far as I can tell it can only be the motor or the mmu board, and as the motor seems to turn and crack up against the new silicon endstop quite happily I am sustpecting the board.

Anybody got any other ideas I could try?

I don't have my MMU3 installed yet, and I'm not at home to look it up, but I seem to remember some mention of a homing sensitivity adjustment.

Yep you are spot on.  I realised last night,  it was me being a twit! When it was beeping and came up with a menu I was reading it wrong.  i'd been reading it as needing a turn on the knob to get to tune.  When I did that it it kept resetting when in reality it defaulted to tune and all I needeto do was press the knob.

Did that and it works fine, and so much less noisily than it used to.

That's good to know.  I plan on putting my MMU in service next week, and now I feel better prepared.
