Cheap Heated 5 x Spool Enclosure
There are a bunch of mods for various food dehydrator, but I found a great one that holds 5 x Spools and needs very little mod to make it work with the MMU2s. All I had to do was drill some 2mm holes and insert some PTFE tubes (various lengths pending on the distance to the MMU2s). In the pic you can see 4 x spools side by side and you can place the 5th in front at right angles. This dehydrator works from 35-70C so is good for all major filament types and will keep the selected heat setting (if you want it) for up to 20h. The Good News is you don't need any filament buffer as nothing gets tangled. Total cost was about US$100. Nice, easy, and works. The other mod I did was cut a tile to 300x330mm ($1) to use as a stable on less slippery base instead of the included plastic one. I'm using a modified Tush Spool Holder for the spools.
The model I'm using is a Sunbeam DT6000 but it looks like there are several of these "rectangle" based units from other mfr.

... and I've also used it to dry "wet" spools just fine, but given you can also print from this enclosure it should make it nice and easy for those of us living in higher humidity environments.
RE: Cheap Heated 5 x Spool Enclosure
Thanks jmone. I might get onto this. It'd be nice if you could rig it up/rewire it as a humidity regulator.. rather than a brute dehydrator.
RE: Cheap Heated 5 x Spool Enclosure
I keep my filaments in a Industrial Humidity Cabinet (but run it at 0%RH). I use the cheap dehydrator as a heated print box - also works great as a print buffer.

Where do you get it for $100? On the website it's $219 plus taxes/shipping.

One is probably USD, that site is likely AUD. Stuff's expensive in Australia; gotta ship it there if it's not a local company.
RE: Cheap Heated 5 x Spool Enclosure
Even in AU$ , I can see best offers around 180 AUD. Would be better to keep the currency as it is. Because you can't really get this one for $100 USD in US.

the site YOU linked at 219 is in AUD. Not the original $100.
RE: Cheap Heated 5 x Spool Enclosure
Sorry, I don't get it. Have you found any source in US where I could get it for $100 USD? Because I'm really interested if it's available in this price range.

That model's not a US model. But literally just search on amazon. Plenty of similarly shaped options under or around that price.

I practically guarantee it's the same white-label far-east manufacturer for most of these and they just put slightly different controls/enclosures on the hardware.

There have been a lot of threads discussing the Gourmia GFD1950 recently. I've already got a PrintDry, so have no direct experience with it.

Ok,
I have a Printdry on one printer. I really like it. I also own several eSun eBox. I like them because they weight the filament and keep it dry. Also, the PolyMaker PolyBox is good at keeping filaments dry. They have a humidity gauge on them. These three options are made for filament.
I have also used dehydrators to dry filament. I have also have used the following (1-6):
- Gourmia GFD1650 Premium Electric Food Dehydrator Machine - it works for about 2-3 spools.
- Samson Brands Dehydrator545 - Like the Sunbeam as pointed out above. I had one but my wife took it to make beef jerky.
- Ivation Stainless Steel Tray Electric Food Dehydrator Machine - One of my favorites - like the Sunbeam but with metal shelves.
- New House Kitchen 9 Dehydrator Machine Electric Food Preserver - It works for 3-4 spools.
- Presto Food Dehydrator - The classic model - holds two spools.
- Magic Mill Food Dehydrator Machine - My favorite - holds 3-5 spools. I really like metal selves.
- AICOOK Dehydrator - Do not own but have eyed it.
- VonShef 550W 10 Tier Food Dehydrator Machine - Another one I am eyeing.
Then again, if money is not a limit, you could buy a dry cabinet:
- T.A.P Dehumidifying Dry Cabinet Box
- T.A.P 48L Digital Control Electronic Automatic Dry Cabinet Box Storage

Thanks! Just bought the same dehydrator. As I understood you run it before printing and during the print, right? Because it wouldn't work as storage enclosure due it's not sealed. Also could you share STL for spool holder.
