MMU2S to MMU3 upgrade kit
Hello,
I’m trying to figure out if the upgrade kit for MMU2S to MMU3 will be compatible with the MK4. There’s not much info on this. Currently the upgrade kit is not in stock.

Hi Jimmy,
the Mk3 series controller uses different connectors to the mk4
the mk3 uses an 8 bit controller and mono colour alpha numeric display, whilst the mk4 uses a 32bit controller and a graphic colour display.
at the moment there is no publicly available firmware for the mk4to use the mmu3. and it is unlikely that the mk3 firmware can be directly ported to the mk4 processor.
I suspect that when the time comes, a version of mmu3 hardware with mk4 compatible data and power connectors will be made available, to work with new firmware, on the Mk4.
it is likely that the mmu3 support brackets, printer filament sensor setup and cables will be the differences, on the mmu3 for mk4, compared to the MMU3 for the Mk3 series printers
but who knows... MMU1 was completely different to MMU2/MMU3...
