Selecting filament at layer change
When you have a multicolor print that changes color on set layers, could it be setup to just select another filament instead of manually changing the filament with MMU2? In Slic3rPE you select the height you want to change filament but during the print you have to manually change colors instead of asking which filament to change to.
Re: Selecting filament at layer change
With the MMU2, the change is done alone, the use does not touch anything
RE: Selecting filament at layer change
I have been told by Prusa that what you and I want to do is impossible using the MMU2s.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to achieve. But maybe that helps:
In the PrusaSlicer you have an option to add modifiers. You can assign a tool to this modifiers. So if you add a big block at certain layer height and add the special tool for this layer, you would get a color change based on layer heights.

Please try that on the herringbone gear part where match up is very critical.

I have tried this with a simple part, but had no luck.

It does work as you can see here:
After 4:23 I'm using it to make the bottom white. Let me know if you need any simple examples.

do you have an stl as an example - you can create modifier layers ( or shapes) to exact thicknesses

The best way to do this is to use a height range modifier. Simply right click your object, select add height range modifier. On the right, "layers" will show up and under it's drop down "range" will appear. Make sure you're in expert mode, and you can change the extruder right next to "range". You can also click the gear next to it, choose add settings, then click extruder and you get options for infill/perimeter for the set layer heights. Hopefully this makes sense! You can add multiple height changes. I've attached a picture...

Thanks noah-s10 for your tutorial. I have been trying to do this for some time. Your information was spot on, although I had to try several times. Thanks again.
