Oops ABS not PLA (sticking issues)

Arrrgh.

That explains my adhesion issue.

I setup a white roll of ABS instead of PLA.

Trying to print it as PLA.

son-in-law comes down, takes a wiff.  ‘Are you printing in ABS…’

Yup !

RE: Oops ABS not PLA (sticking issues)

Never done that...

Tried ASA and PETG at PLA temperatures they weren't very successful.

A friend tried to print the gear bearing on my Mk1, whilst I was out of the house, she set the temperatures up for ABS, and fed PLA into the extruder.
Surprisingly the first few layers were badly warped, but overall, the print was a success, in that it actually completed, and the hub and gears could rotate inside he housing.

I think everyone has a material error at some time...

My ASA debacle happened on the first print after changing the extruder, so naturally I initially focussed on the extruder installation.

I was working away from home at the time, so I took the 'Faulty Printer' home and took another printer back to my remote accomodation... it was when I was putting the reel of black filament back on the second printer, that I realised it was actually ASA...

Oooops

regards Joan
