MMU2 Colors overlapping on same layer creating horrible looking colors

It used to be, when I added a 2 layer stl file to be an inlay in the base of an item, when it was sliced the second color would go around the first but now it doesnt.  Example the photo I have here.  At layer .2, it will do orange and the completely cover it in black.  This makes my prusa orange look HORRIBLE. then the second layer does it again.  I can no longer get clean colors for the underside of an object.  Is it a setting somewhere I am missing?? I just need the black to go around the orange and fill in the gaps so when its done it doesn't turn brown because of the thin orange layer then immediate black.

RE:

Prusa Slicer handles overlapping volumes now differently than it used to in older versions. The prioritisation of overlapping volumes has always been unreliable to begin with.

In any case, you should move the orange element above the black one in the list. This should give it priority (but like I said, not reliably). You can also set the black element to 99% infill will giving the orange one 100% infill. This also sometime helps.

The proper solution would be to go to meshmixer or blender und cut out the orange element from the black object. If there are no overlapping volumes, Prusa Slicer can't get it wrong.

I can tell you a story, I had to do that for my entire MMU catan set as all the colours of overlapping elements were completely messed up a few Prusa Slicer updates down the road. 😉

I tried putting the orange first, tried the infill thing and UGH! Nope.. still does the same thing.. 🙁 this used to be so easy!!!!

What you can also try is to rearrange the positions of the spools (swap the channels for the two physically at the printer and in the settings of the slicer accordingly too). I have seen that order of filaments can have an impact too. However, if that also doesn't help, join me on the hard way and do some Boolean operations in meshmixher or blender to remove volume overlaps.
