How to go Back to Single Colour Printing

Really struggling to get my MMU2 up and running (not got anywhere near printing through it yet) and want to go back to single printing.

is there an easy way to go back? Or will I need to completely uninstall?

Really appreciate any help/advice just so I can regain my sanity before I try again in a few months time

unplug the cable between the EINSY and MMU - the controller will revert to plain mode. the extruder will still be MMU style unless you switch the sensor back to the stock MK3s position with the steel ball

If you load a single filament and then select "load to nozzle" from the menu, the MK3S/MMU will run gcode sliced for a standard MK3S with no mods needed? You don't really have to take anything apart if you don't want to. Then when you're ready to try it again it'll already be hooked up. I found it difficult to trip the filament sensor on the extruder without the MMU operating. I had to use my fingernail to press at the base of the sensor arm to get the sensor to trip and start the extruder gears until I got the MMU assembled.

My issue has been Loading to Nozzle, it loads ok but then within seconds unloads it, it’s doing my head in

I can get all 5 colours to Load, I can get them all to load to nozzle but that’s where the issues start... they each just unload before I’m able to do anything (and they all unload fine so I don’t seem to have any friction issues)

I just think if I can do some single colour printing to get my sanity back I’ll be good to go again later

As already said, disconnect the data or power for the MMU and then remove the PTFE between the MMU and extruder and you are golden to print as a normal MK3S.

As far as your issue, from what you describe it sounds like an IR sensor issue. I predict that you'll have issues getting through prints (without the MMU) and the filament sensor enabled. Debugging such issues will be easier without the MMU attached though.

Have you checked your filament sensor?  I had that very same issue when I set up my MMU2S, and I had to adjust the location of the filament sensor and loosen the extrusion idler a half-turn or so.  There's a procedure in the MMU2S handbook on how to check it.
