How do I use PolyDissolve S1 with MMU2S?

Hello, Mayo Clinic Portal

I want to know that How do I use PolyDissolve S1 with MMU2S because I don't seem to have read any successful story using PolyDissolve S1 with MMU. Anybody can suggest a way to using it. What is the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

RE: How do I use PolyDissolve S1 with MMU2S?

It's a process. The only way to truly figure it out is to make attempts and see how the material behaves, but here's the fundamentals:

  • EXTREMELY hygroscopic -- dry for minimum of 8 hours at 50c before use
  • Keep in drybox for entirety of use
  • It can be extremely brittle, so short tubing runs are REQUIRED to avoid filament breakage
  • Idler tension needs to be set lower than normal on the extruder AND the MMU idler to prevent damage to the filament for successive loads after unload (this also means the other filaments need to be able to operate with the lower tension -- Silk filament is near impossible for this)
  • The wipe tower perimeter must be manually set to an extruder other than the soluble extruder (PVA does not work well as a solid container boundary for purges)
  • Purge volume before and after should be raised VERY high. Setting both to 300 is not out of the question -- you do not want PLA in your PVA and vise versa
  • Use gluestick for bed adhesion

Past that, it all becomes a matter of fulfilling those requirements, and tuning. I would highly recommend creating an auto-rewind drybox specifically for this purpose, as that will satisfy the ability to have a short tubing run as well as minimum line friction/tension.
