Extruder going back to some kind of default?

Hi All,

Fairly new to this so my apologies if this turns out an easy solution.

I am trying to print multiple objects, and have them alternate colors. As you can see from the screen shot, I do this by changing the extruder number from 3 to 4 over and over again. However when I click preview, it defaults the extruder number back to red (which is extruder number 1) and I'm unsure why.

I do see in "Multiple Extruders" sectino of "print settings" that under Perimeter extruder, Infill extruder, and solid infill extruder the settings are set to extruder number 1, but changing these settings does nothing to how it looks under preview.

TLDR: Set extruder numbers to 3 and 4 on alternating objects, in preview prusaslicer is setting everything in the print back to extruder 1. How can this be fixed?

Update:

This only seems to be the case when the option: wipe into this object is checked. I want to be able to wipe into object though. Anyone know how to wipe into an object while keeping the extruder number choice?

Well, wipe into object uses the whole object as a wipe item. So it ignores all extruder settings.

Did you perhaps intend to use "wipe-to-infill" instead? That is the one that leaves the exterior perimeter values alone and does purges only on the infill.

@vintagepc

The goal of this was to be able to mix colors together via the wipe function. These objects are also really skinny so they have little to no infil to begin with.

The problem was I was setting the wipe to infil setting for all of the objects. I needed to have 2 that are 1 solid color each. Thanks!
