Better definition between colors

I have got my MMu and printer working.  I have attempted to print my own file in 2 colors and I'm finding that I have some lines of black print in the red body and the body generally appears darker than I would like.   I'm looking for a few ways to improve my prints.  I also have a fillet that is not looking like I would like it to.

Thanks

Your filaments are damp and some of the resulting stringing may be going astray whilst some could be sticking to the nozzle and redepositing.

Colour values are distorted when slightly translucent filament transmits colour from adjacent blocks. You can expoit this by printing a high contrast pattern and then either one or two layers of another filament on top so the shaded pattern comes through in muted tones.

Thank you for the reply.  I suspect you are correct about the moisture.   Can you explain what you mean by a high contrast pattern?    Also If I printed the item solid would that look better?

Imagine printing a chessboard in black and white then one layer more of translucent green - you get a light/dark green chequerboard instead.

Now consider a blue and white pattern covered by yellow, giving a pale yellow/green result...

If you need a combination of full colour and shades of colour you can print the shades underneath the top layer gaining a whole new secondary palette.

Beyond two or three layers the effect is lost but of course adjacent colours will refract modified colours through each other.

Cheerio,

Thank you.  This is an interesting thought.  I am hoping that you have a file you can share to give me and example of how to do this.

Thank you very much.  I am having trouble seeing this in my mind.   Hopefully, your example will help me visualize what you are trying to convey to me.  Sorry for my late response.  It's been a busy couple of days.
