Start every layer with the same color

Hello,

is it possible to start every layer with the same color?

My problem seem to be (I use eSun ABS+) that the current color of the filament seems to dissolve the already printed color. It is not a matter of the purge volume, that i increase already (45mm3). My print consists of black and yellow filament. When yellow is printed with contact to black, it sucks up black color form the already printed black part. The normal sequence of printing would be: Layer 1 black, yellow; layer 2 yellow, black; layer 3 black, yellow and so on. What might solve the problem is, when I start every layer with yellow. Of course this would increase the filament changes during the print. I hope this will solve the problem.

Hi Jens, the normal sequence (Assuming all colours are used) is:

Layer 1, colours 1,2,3,4,5  Colour 5 (Or the highest colour used on that layer is held over to the next layer)
Layer2, Colours 5,1,2,3,4  Now Colour 4 is held over to the next layer so the sequence is...
Layer3, colours 4,1,2,3,5
Layer 4, Colours 5,1,2,3,4
Layer 5, Colours 4,1,2,3,5

this will continue until the number of colours on a layer changes

I am unaware of any slicer function to change this process.
regards Joan

thinking outside the box

IF you could make colours 4 and 5 yellow and have two separate sections of the model yellow on every layer, then every layer except the first layer would start with yellow....

Topic starter answered:
Extra perimeters and infill

Hello Joan,

thanks for your answers. I will also give the options "infill before perimeters" and "number of perimeters (with modifier)" a try.
