Slic3r Re-arranging Multi-material prints for the MMU, what am I doing wrong?

So I have just got a MMU and so far so good. It prints the example models fine and I figured it was time to start slicing my own.

I found this on thingiverse as a good starter model
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2649487

It contains a set of STLs that fit together, they clearly are not all modelled at the origin. However, when I import them to Slic3r they are automatically moved to the centre of the bed and dropped down to sit on the bed. I cannot find a setting to stop this (I found one that stops auto-arranging but that is already off). I even found a setting that allows the stls to be combined within slic3r which places them in the appropriate places (but merges them into one stl as far as I can tell) so I know the location info is present!

What am I doing wrong?

thanks

Phil

I think I've gotten around the problem by adding 1 stl, double clicking it and then clicking "load part" or similar. This allows all parts to be added and not be one thing. Within this sub window I can assign each stl to an extruder as I wanted.

I havent set the print going yet but it looks like it should work. This is not at all an obvious solution.

Hi Philip,

Select all parts  at one time and slic3r will alert that multiple parts are being loaded,

select yes

and you get this
