Selector moves to new position before filament retracts

I have an Prusa i3 MK3S with the MMU2S.

Bondtech Mosquito hot end

MMU firmware version: 1.0.6-372

I had a multi day print running and it had been running fine. The selector was changing filaments with no problem. On day 3 for no appearent reason the selector would start to retract the filament like normal but it then immediately moves to the next filament jamming the selector.

I have aborted the print and hard reset the printer. Reset the MMU to factory default. Re-flashed the firmware on the MMU but the problem persists.

Looking for assistance.

RE: Selector moves to new position before filament retracts

The selector should/can only move when there is no filament detected by the FINDA on the MMU. Make sure the FINDA is calibrated correctly and that the ball can move freely. The ball can get stuck or partially stuck by strings from the filaments.

This doesn't help you now, but you can reset the MMU during a print when it has a load or unload failure. That way you can try to get the MMU working again by cleaning and adjusting and resetting.

@baklin

Thank you very much! It looks like that may have been the problem. I did re-calibrate the FINDA and it's working fine.
