Notches and dents in filament?

Any idea what's causing these notches and dents in the filament? The small notches I think are from the extruder gears, which might mean I have them too tight, but that big notch shows up during almost every filament change. Is it from the pulley bearing? Too tight, misaligned, something else?

I have seen that the pulley alignment drifts occasionally and I have to reset it, but I'm not sure if there's a "right" way to do that.Filament notches MMU2s

The notch at the bottom looks like the Bondtech extruder gears may have been chewing on the filament. If you have a clog preventing the filament from advancing, this can happen.

Are you letting the extruder push the filament up or are you pulling it out with force? When doing cold pulls manually pulling filament out I'll sometimes have filament pull and stretch a bit like that, especially if I neglect to loosen the extruder gears first.

This far I have avoided having to manually pull filament out or do cold pulls, but I have had a couple of clogs prevent initial extrusion and followed up with some cleaner filament. That might explain it, thanks!
