Modify firmware to ignore IR Filament sensor

Hey guys,

I have an MK3S with an MMU2S unit installed. However, when printing flex material, the filament sensor is not triggered so it times out on a tool change load.

Does anyone have instructions on how to have the filament sensor ignored when certain filament types are loaded?

Thanks!

Tim

RE: Modify firmware to ignore IR Filament sensor

The feedback from the filament sensor is integral part of the loading process, it's needed to trigger the disengagement of the MMU idler and to check if the filament is loaded all the way. Of course you could modify the firmware to ignore it, but that would probably do more harm than good. Also, I do not see a way the MMU could get to know what type of filament is loaded and change it's behavour accordingly.

It is probably better you spend some time calibrating your filament sensor for the material you use.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
Find out why this is pinned in the general section!
