MMU2S loading and unloading filament in a loop
I am having an issue with my mmu2 where when I tell it to load a filament to nozzle it will load the filament into the nozzle and then remove the filament over and over again and the only way to stop it is to turn off the printer. I am not sure what is causing this issue so I would really appreciate some help if people have had this issue in the past.
Your filament sensor in the extruder may be faulty or clogged. Try turning it off in the LCD menu, any difference?
If so check for debris in the sensor, correct alignment and check the connections.

I tried what you said an I am still having the same issue so do you have any other ideas as to what is wrong. On top of this it has now started to unload the filament when you tell it to load the filament (this only happens in this situation otherwise it rotates the right way) so I am beginning to think that is is a software and not a hardware issue, any Ideas to solve this problem?

Maybe try reflashing the mmu2s only?

Temporarily bypass the MMU. Unhook the Bowden tube feed filament direct, use a plain MK3 gcode and see if it prints OK. You are trying to find out whether the issue is with the base printer or the MMU.

thanks for the tip, I just did as you said and it printed a benchy with no issues so it is definitely and issue with the MMU2. I also re-flashed the firmware on it and it didn't change anything because of this I am going to replace the sensors and see if it changes anything.

I Just replaced the super pinda sensor as it turns out that it was broken so it was constantly reporting to the printer that there was filament loaded. It is now printing fine and has done roughly 250 colour swaps.

Hey do you remember or know if your S.P.I.N.D.A. was reading as "N/A" under the support settings(Or if it's still reading as N/A)? I have another S.P.I.N.D.A. in route but in the meantime I'm still not convinced that is the issue. However, its the only thing left for me to change other than the MMU2S board itself.

When my S.P.I.N.A failed it wasn't detecting anything if that's what you mean by N/A and to test it I temporarily replaced it with the one for bed leveling to confirm that it was that part that had gone bad. You have probably already tried this but make sure that it is properly adjusted as last week mine went out of position and started doing the whole rigmarol again but it was easily fixed with an adjustment.

I just bought a Prusa MMU2S printer and it only allows printing up to 5 filaments at a time. It is worth mentioning here that there is a stuck plastic thread how to fix this error, I hope to have the answer here.
