MMU2S Filament Buffer Issues (IKEA LACK Enclosure Layout)

I cannot get the filament buffer to work.

I have tried so many solutions to get my MMU2S to work over the last 2 years. Recently, I built the IKEA LACK enclosure, thinking it would surely work since the design is from Prusa itself. Well, the filament simply goes straight through the buffer when unloading and tangles on the spool as if there were nothing in between at all. I have tried solutions like this, but it doesn't seem to work. All of this in addition to how awful the buffer is to load. If I can get the buffer to work, great. I would also be ok with another solution that is not a pain to load.

I've been troubleshooting for 2 years.

Well I have my MK3S/MMU2 working with the original buffer on a lack enclosure. Just two mods to the buffer:

First: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4484578

and second: https://www.prusaprinters.org/de/prints/54445-ptfe-tube-mounts-for-lack-enclosure-v2

Additionally I have the MMU M10 passthrough adapter installed on the MMU2 and using ID2.5 and ID3 PTFE tubes for most of the filament path.

Like this, the buffer works as intended as does my MMU2. I use the screws that hold the tubes in the buffer on the frontend to adjust the friction of the filament so it does not get pushed back towards the spool but stays in the buffer...

With the M10-mod on the back of the buffer it's reasonably comfortable to load filament to the MMU2.

I personally never could get that buffer and the spool design of the enclosure to work.  I went to the "Gravity Spoolholder for MMU2S" long ago and it works great.  The two benefits are 1) it works and 2) it is easy to load/unload filament.

I just finished installing those and it appears to unload properly. I've yet to do a multi-material print but I am hopeful it will work. Thanks so much
