MMU2 Loading Problem

I don't have any pictures, but I've been experiencing a strange load problem when I'm printing. For some reason I can't figure out my MMU2 keeps loading filament 2 in preference to every other color. When everything else is working correctly it'll do the first layer of filament 1 using filament 2 before switching to filament 1 on the second layer.

I have never seen this. What is the source of your gcode? Do you see this with the pre-sliced gcode files that ship with the prusa/slic3r bundle?

Just for debugging purposes, I would suggest a few steps:

1) pre-slice gcode from SD card
2) slic3r gcode from SD card
3) slic3r gcode from octoprint

I love octoprint (I have a stack of 3 pi-3s for my mk3/ultimaker/rostock), but for initial bringup I'd suggest removing as many variables as possible.

Check to make sure the idler bearing rotator driven by the motor on the left. My mmu2 is having problems rotating to the correct idler with any sort of spring tension. Unfortunately if this is your problem I do not have an answer to it. I'll post if I get a solution to a problem. Hopefully this helps.

Thanks Cristian.s4. Fortunately I know that it is rotating correctly. I've been able to print with all 5 colors. It either puts down the first layer for filament 1 with filament 2 instead, or it prints everything using filament 2. I'll pull some gcodes and run the suggested tests from the sd card and octoprint to see. I'm beginning to think I'm doing it wrong in Slic3r PE.

From the test currently running it looks like OctoPrint was the problem. I sliced my visualizer in 5 colors using Chris Warkocki's pretty pla mmu2 profiles and it's printing perfectly.

I'd like to try his pla profile..... Where is it listed?

Prusa MK3 preassembled (R2/B6) > (R3/B/7)
Prusa MK2.5 kit > MK3 > MK3+MMU2 (R3/B/7) 😀
Prusa SL1 3D printer + Curing and Washing Machine (day1 order)
Taz6
CR10s4
Delta 3ku
