MMU2 factory reset question regarding filament length calibration
According to this Prusa article on factory resetting the MMU2 which states:
Note that the factory reset is a hard reset of the MMU firmware: it will delete the filament length calibration values. The firmware version will not be changed.
I'm hesitant to perform a hard reset because it will delete the filament length calibration values. How do I re-calibrate the filament lengths?
It also says the firmware version will not change. Is only the calibration info being erased?
The bottom line is I don't want to break something I can't fix/restore.

Do you have the 2S setup? If so the calibration is not required as the IR sensor is used instead. It's only necessary for the non-S variant.
That said, it can be done via the buttons on the MMU. IIRC the procedure is outlined in the manual for the MMU2 (NOT the MMU2S)

I do have the MMU2S variety. I found the procedure to factory reset the MMU2 and there's a link to the said procedure in my first post. I just want to make sure I don't break anything.
The issue I'm having is my MMU2 won't load right. When trying to print a 2-color print that I successfully printed a few days ago with no issue, the filament goes in and out of the MMU2 two or three times, but only barely reaches the Bowden tube leading to the extruder before it goes backward.
I've been playing with the tension on the MMU2 door by tightening and untightening the 40mm spring-loaded screws. I have successfully been able to 'load to nozzle' on several occasions, but when I try to print using the same first nozzle with a 2-color print, I get this problem. Yes, my FINDA sensor is working fine and all the Bondtech gears are clean. I've removed the Bowden tubes entirely to eliminate friction along the path. I don't know what the deal is, and this is why I'm considering the MMU2s factory reset.
I just want to ensure I don't break anything I can't undo before I try this.

I've had the same problems and according to my experience there are 2 problems to solve. 1st the filament sensor is not working reliable and 2nd the filament path has edges/transitions that can block/deteriorate the filament loading. The 2nd issue I solved by using M10 passthrough adapter/fittings for the MMU-Selector and extruder filament path.
