MMU problems

Hi, after ordering my MMU in Dez 2017, it arrived last week. So i put it together and realized that its not working at all. Got in touch with the Prusa support via chat. After explaining my problem the guy told me that he has no clue and i should contact the support via mail. Which i did yesterday night. Any experience how long it takes for a response?
Here i attach the text of the mail, just in case that anybody else run into the same problem:
Hi, i have already chattet with the support and they ask me to write an email about my problem, so the technical support can take care. Today i finished my MMU build and connected it to the printer. After this i started to flash the new firmware. First i flashed the firmware for the printer. This went well.
Than i tried to flash the MMU firmware. i received the message that the MMU can not be found and that i should check the connection. At this time i realized that the MMU has no power. This was clear because there was no LCD lamp on and by pushing the black buttons there was no mowing. I checked every wire. everything was connected in the right way. (see pictures attached)
I disconnected the power cable on the MMU and measure it with a voltmeter. The cable had 24V. I connected it back. I turned the printer on again. It started normal and after having the normal printer Informations on the display the printer suddenly restarted and in the display was the following message:
external SPI flash W25X20CL not responding.
I try to flash the firmware again, the same result. I completely disconnected the MMU and flashed the printer with an older firmware version, the same result. In the picture below you can see the flashing log.
I think the board that came with my MMU was defect . For that reason there is no power on the MMU. Somehow this destroyed my RAMBO, so i can not flash it. Please help.
Best regards
Renato

Re: MMU problems

Greetings.
Under photos I can see that you have Einsy v1.0a version of the board. I attach your Firmware 3.4.0 for MMU2, try it. Let me know how you came.

Re: MMU problems

Hi,

In the last photo it seems the cable from the MMU unit is not attached right to the Rambo board in the printer. It should be flush with the other connector...

I agree. Unplug and replug that one in, make sure its flush. Then completely turn off the unit with the power switch, restart, and give it a minute or so.

Re: MMU problems

I had the exact same issue and Prusa sent me a new rambo board which fixed the issue.

Re: MMU problems

I'm having the problem as well

external SPI flash W25X20CL not responding

Plugged the MMU board into the Einsy. Einsy does not recongnize MMU. When I unplug the MMU, it still comes up with the message.

Re: MMU problems

Holy crap, I had the same thing happen to me this week end (which has bricked my machine now). If you are at all interested in reading my story you can find it here.

I have the 1.1b board.

There is definitely a problem with the MMU2 and the MK3 board under some strange as yet known circumstances. .

Still waiting on support to respond to my support request.

Re: MMU problems

Hi,
I had the same "External SPI flash W25X20CL not responding" error message right after the MMU2 install.
After a few email exchanges with the support, they sent a new einsy board which solved the problem.
