Manually unloading the MMU2S
My new MMU2S is finally working OK but I'm having a problem unloading the filament to change the roll to a new color. It is working just fine in pulling filament to and from the extruder. It is when I try to pull the filament out the back of the MMU so I can feed in a new roll. The tip on the filament comes back past the MMU feed gears but won't feed back through the tube and jams at the hole in the MMU just past the gears. I have to open the MMU and use the needle nose pliers to pull it back towards the gears till I get enough slack to clip the end off. Then it slides right out.
I've been reading lots of posts and guides this past week and somewhere I saw method where you could move the selector out of the way and cause the MMU to extrude some filament forward into the air. then I could just cut it off and unload the color normally. I just can't find it again. Now that everything else is working I don't take everything apart yet again.

From the printer, on the menu, select "Eject Filament", then select the filament you want to remove. The MMU selector will move to the right of the filament you selected, and will advance the filament to where it is sticking out the front. It will then move the idler pulley off the filament, and the filament can be rewound onto the spool with no resistance.
Once the filament is out of the MMU, you can click the wheel on the printer, and the idler and selector will return to their home positions.
