Firmware problem ? ( MMU loads wrong filament)

( F/W in MMU, 1.0.2-132, printer: 3.4.2-1360)

In the middle of a print the filament selector positions at another filament position than the one feeding/loading filament. Result is printer says "MMU needs…." and I find the filament sticking out about 10-15 cm on the side of the selector.

I tried to fix this, but I could'nt get the printer to continue and had to abort the print( happened three times). One problem for being able to continue is that I dont know which filament it supposed to use, the one sticking out on the side or the one where the selector is positioned.

This print is the Minijo, "MMU2_PLA_Jo_Prusa_white_beige_orange_grey_black_200um_22H" from the MMUMK3-folder.
Still trying to get the printer to work properly, after 3 weeks and a lot of hours.

I cant see that I can affect the outcome in any way, both that I cant see that this is me doing anything wrong, and I also cannot se how I could prevent this from happening.

Mk3S+, Mk4 MMU2S never worked properly

This is an occasional issue. The MMU is getting confused about the idler position.

There's an open issue in GIt for this: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware/issues/1181 . However, the issue should probably be in the MMU Firmware repository so it might not be getting the attention it deserves. Since I opened the issue I take full blame.

There seems to be too much occasional issues. Only managed to make one MMU print, the two color benchyboat.
This after multiple tries. Before the individual bowden calib. no prints was possible except singlematerial prints.

After the multicalibration it could print more then one color but it always goes bad, in some way. Despite very thorough calibration in the calib meny, the same filament doesnt always reach the bondtech igears and prints fails.
Followed manual and the tips in the forum but still it doesnt work. Tried using Prusa filament only, samt thing.

Its about time to give up and realise that this is not a mature product. I cannot continue to put a lot of time for nothing.

I'm having a similar issue. The idler is confused about its position and the MMU fails to either pull or push the filament down to the extruder.

Please let me know if someone has had success with resolving this issue.

Thank you.

Re: Firmware problem ? ( MMU loads wrong filament)

only times ive seen that is when filament gets stuck while its trying to move. then it just turns dumb, and your print is more then likely over. resetting is the only way so far to get it back. and unless it jams on filament 1...… BUT if it does jam on filament 1. hitting reset on the mmu should make it work.

the next time it happens to me I will see if it recovers using filament 1, and then see what filament it changes to after that.

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.
