File incomplete
Hi there. I have MK3S+ printer and MMU2S. I updated the firmware to the latest version (FIRMWARE 3.13.1 (3.0.0)). Now, I am having problems with the correct G-code. If I make any modifications to the print profile, I get the error message "File incomplete". However, if I use the standard settings and do not make any changes, the G-code is fine. What can I do to be able to modify the print parameters again?
RE: File incomplete
I am seeing the same. But I don't think it's the firmware, I think it is something in the slicer.
In my case, I had to back the firmware on the MMU2S and the MK3S+ out to the old firmware, since the current firmware could not let the unit boot past the homing cycle, and neither of the fixes offered up did anything to resolve the issue. What I see is that ANYTHING I slice using the MMU profile indicates that the file is incomplete when I actually put the SD card in the MK3S+. However, if I load any gcode previously sliced (even ones from the same 3mf file, sliced before the firmware/slicer pair update), those work just fine.
This error only seems to happen when slicing anything for use with the MMU.
I have also found that if I use an older MMU-based 3mf file, then drag the STLs I want into it, when sliced, the gcode reads fine on my machine. But the same STLs opened directly in PS, and sliced with what appear to be the same settings, causes the error on the machine.
Is there any way to tell exactly WHAT the printer thinks is incomplete? In a side by side comparison, the files seem identical (some stuff is moved around, but it's all still there), with what looks like a complete start gcode and a complete end gcode sequence. I also notice no issue when opening and pre-screening the gcode on my computer. PS does not detect (or at least does not report) any error opening the gcode in the gcode reader/viewer.
Since my printer and MMU2S are back on the 3.12.2-5713 and 1.0.6 respectively, and only the slicer has been updated to 2.6.1, I am inclined to think this problem is somehow either slicer induced, or is coming from a change to one of the presets relating to the MMU in the print profiles.
My MMU3 upgrade kit arrived this weekend and I am printing the parts for it, but I'd like to understand what is broken here before moving off this configuration for new, unexplored territory, and potentially bringing a problem along for the ride.
Anyone else seeing similar issues?
RE: File incomplete
Thanks for the response. I'll also revert to older firmware versions. I'll try the update in a few months (with a new slicer version), so maybe these errors will be resolved.
RE:
Had the same message after I updated the firware on my MK3S+ and MMU3 and the slicer software. Chose to ignore it as it was small print anyway and all printed fine. Then replaced the SD Card but the same message keeps appearing. (Don't really want to reset anything now it is finally printing (single color) with the MMU.
Now running firmware 3.13.2 (3.0.1) with Slicer 2.7.0+Win64
RE: File incomplete
I started getting the File Incomplete message on the printer immediately after I upgraded the slicer from 2.6.x to 2.7.0 (macOS). I get the error on all gcode files I exported with this new slicer version. Seems related to the slicer and not the printer firmware. I had an older firmware installed and I just upgraded to the latest 3.13.2 / 3.3.0 (MK3S+/MMU) firmware and still get the File Incomplete message. I also tried to reformat the SD card, but no effect. In every cases, the gcode seems to run smoothly, so for the time being it is just an annoyance.
RE: File incomplete
I too started having the "file incomplete" problem after updating the slicer to 2.7.0. I am running firmware 3.13.2 and had no problems until the slicer update. I went back to the 2.6.1 slicer and do not have any problems now.
RE: File incomplete
I had the file incomplete problem after upgrading firmware to: 3_13_2_7080 for the printer and 3_3_0_1 for the MMU2S. At the same time I upgraded my slicer to 2.7.0. The fix for me was going back to slicer 2.6.1. I left the printer and MMU firmware alone.
RE: File incomplete
I am having the exact same issue. It started when we went to the MMU add on. We flashed the newest firmware 3.xx and updated slicer to 2.7. All three engineers have the same PCs except I am running windows 11 (upgraded) as I was one of the guinea pigs in our department. The other 2 engineers are still on windows 10 and have the same exact software and can export g-code without any errors from the printer. I get the "Incomplete File continue YES/NO"
I might add that I have just started a print and just said "YES" to the incomplete file and it printing with PLA and the PVA soluble interface.
RE:
I am having the same "file incomplete" problem with my MK3/MMU2S printer. This is the first time I have turned it on after getting my XL5T over a month ago.
I have upgraded to the latest firmware for both the MK3 (3.13.2-7080) and the MMU2s (3.0.1). Using the latest Slicer (2.7.04+win64)
Computer is set up with Windows 10 Home 22H2 OS build 19045.3693 - AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 12-Core Processor 3.80 GHz - 128 GB RAM
After vewing the G-CODE (which is for a single tool/color/filament) on the SD CARD I simply chose to continue the print (it is in progress now).
RE: File incomplete
Same problems here too. Unfortunately the recent slicer update to 2.7.1 did not help. I still keep on ignoring the message.
RE: File incomplete
on mk3 with mmu2 i am having the exact same problem and it started i installed slicer 2.7.1. Started receiving the error message even before updating the firmware to 3.13.2
I don't understand how this has gone on so long. Is the mk3 with a mmu2 that unique of a system that it has gone this long without prusa fixing the file incomplete error?
RE: File incomplete
MK3S+ and MMU3 with latest firmware and PS 2.7.1. The oerro message occurs whether I slice on a MAC or Windows 10 device. Also my SD cards are working and have all been reformated. I have even reloaded PS but no joy.
