Does the IR sensor latch to 1?
Having no joy at all in trying to get my mmu2s working.
One of the first recommendations is to calibrate the IR sensor and as identified, when I slide the small Allen key in the filament hole, the state of the sensor goes from 0 to 1. However, when I remove the Allen key, the sensor STILL stays at 1. Is that the way its supposed to work or is this a problem with the sensor? If that is the way it is supposed to work, how do I reset it to 0?
RE: Does the IR sensor latch to 1?
No that is not correct. It should return to the neutral state when the key is removed.
The simplest answer is that your tension bolt is too loose and it's not pulling the door back as it should.
I would bet, however, that you are falling victim to issues with the IR flag or the door itself.
If adjusting the tension bolt doesn't fix it, try grabbing the STL for the door and printing a new one (disconnect the MMU and turn off the IR sensor) and see if that helps.
You can poke around other threads or look through my post history to get more details on the door/flag issue (sorry, on my phone).
RE: Does the IR sensor latch to 1?
Hey thanks for your quick reply! Your info allowed me to identify that I had removed the tension bolt from the nut thread (as that's the only way I could achieve enough clearance for the Allen key to slip down far enough)... but as I realized from your post, that in turn did not allow the sensor to reset itself. (Didn't appreciate that it's that flag at the top of the door that resets the sensor.
That in turn allowed me to identify that the bigger problem was filament that had snapped off level with the top of the tpfe tube in the extruder. I've cleared that and now trying to figure out why the MMU2s still isn't working. 🙂 <sigh>
