Dead FINDA
A MMU2 print just failed when unloading. I checked the Support/Sensor screen, and the FINDA value was set at 1. There was no no filament or debris inside the loading area. I reflashed the MMU2 with the latest firmware with no change.
I removed the FINDA entirely, and it still shows a value of 1.
But, when bending the FINDA cable, it flashes 0 occasionally. My unit never had an LED that lit up, so I can't use that as debug.
I assume this means that the FINDA is damaged, unless someone has an idea of what it could be. I emailed Prusa support last night, but did not get a response today.
I found a couple replacement devices in the US on Amazon
$7.99. but I am not sure this is the right part. The description looks right.
https://www.amazon.com/Twidec-Inductive-Proximity-Detecting-LJ12A3-4-Z/dp/B07P2KTHK8/
$12.99, but there is a note that someone successfully used in a MMU2 clone https://www.amazon.com/Taiss-LJ8A3-2-Z-Cylinder-inductive-Proximity/dp/B073XC45CC
Anyone have any suggestions here?
RE: Dead FINDA
I would suggest you contact the PR online support and let you ship a replacement (if it's really broken).

RE: Dead FINDA
Thanks nikolai. I tried to post a question last night, but the site rejected my question. And I have NEVER gotten a reply when asking a MMU2 question to [email protected]. I applaud all of you who have gotten the MMU2 working, and who get responses from Prusa. I don't want to sound like a whiner, but I am really fed up. But, I will try the online Contact form one more time, per your suggestion.

e-mail contact takes a long time. Please use PR online support chat. You will find it on the shop site if you login in the bottom right corner.
