Change sequence of extruders
Does anyone know how Slic3r determines what sequence to use between the different materials on each layer? If so, is there a way to manipulate this to ensure that a specific color goes down first?

i think the first will change each layer. at least by default. it should take the last material or layer (say one) and make it first layer of layer 2. saving time. and purge block. I swear I remember there being a setting for that function. I will start looking, but I could be wrong.
I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

Generally it just goes in sequence, from 1 through 5, skipping any which aren't used.
If you want to ensure a specific color is printed first, put it in filament 1.

I would be nice to set a sequence, so you can select from the lightest color to the darkest and reduce the purgeing volume.
It would still works with the current setup that the last color is used as a first for the next Layer.
for example:
White -> Yellow-> Red-> Black
Layer change
Black->White-> Yellow->Red
Layer Change
Red->Black->White-> Yellow
etc...
Then you wolud need only a big purge volume going from Black to White

It would make more sense (and require less waste) to go to this order:
Yellow, White, Red, Black
Black, Red, White, Yellow
Noting that Yellow generally requires more purging than White.
I define filament slightly differently, using the terms "Opaque", "Regular", "Translucent", "Transparent" and "Ultra-Transparent".
Kiss sorts out the ordering for me, based on minimal waste; the filaments are printed in that order on one layer and then reversed for the next. Smaller differences require less purging that large differences.

I just choose a seqeunce to show what i mean. I didn't print yellow (yet)
my thought was going from yellow to red a color bleed is not that noticable.
Anyway i would be great to give a fixed sequence.
For example if you use "wipe into infill" you could the larges Infill volume to the color change with the biggest purge volume.
But on the other side it works like it is now.
