What happened to MMU sample prints?

I was looking for an MMU sample print to try out some new filament I got today, and I went to the Prusa web site, https://www.prusa3d.com/ , because I knew they had some sample MMU prints. I clicked on the "3D Models" tab at the top of the page, and I noticed that the listing for "MMU Models" is missing? There used to be 4 options to choose from on the pull down list, Prusa I3 Printable Parts, Bundled 3D Models, MMU Models, and User 3D Prints. The MMU Models option is no longer available, there were a bunch of MMU models such as the "Racing Frog", and the "Gecko".

I wonder if they pulled them in order to fix the G-code that they had available for downloading? I hope so, I never could get any of the Prusa compiled g-codes to work, I would just use the list as a guide to find the .stl files on Thingiverse. Hopefully they are getting ready to roll out some new firmware, and Slic3r settings?

Keeping my fingers crossed!!! 😎

it they were in Gcode format, I wouldn't even try. best bet is to slice your own with your filament setting from what I hear.

I have a Prusa,therefore I research.

Yeah, that's what I had to do. I don't have any Prusa filament, so I knew that the Prusa generated g-codes we're not going to work, but had to try one. Trying to troubleshoot the MMU and figure out settings, I've had people ask me "have you tried a gcode sample from Prusa?". As expected, utter failure with the Prusa g-codes.

I've had so me minor success with the MMU2 recently, I actually had 2 successful prints. 😁

They're still there. Pick 'Bundled 3D Prints' from the menu, the MMU2 prints are now included in the main page that's all.

I believe that the pre-sliced models are also included in the "drivers" package. You just have to find them on your computer.

You could try: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Prusa3D

You don't need to have the Prusa filament. I went the same approach and printed the sheep gcode and gecko gcode first before I sliced my first MMU object. Just make sure the temperature is working for your filament.

No there not listed in the 'Bundled 3D Prints', there was a huge listing of MMU prints that they had listed for MMU2 models. It included the racing frog, the lion holding the shield, the gecko, 5 color benchie, etc. A lot of the designs were from this designer on Thingiverse, https://www.thingiverse.com/cipis/designs . These models are not listed in the 'Bundled 3D Prints' listing.

I'm sure the g-codes can be found with the bundled firmware package that can be downloaded, and I wasn't looking for anything specific, just looking for inspiration as to what to try printing next.

I am happy to say that my MMU is printing much better now that I've removed my Ruby Tipped Nozzle, I've made 3 consecutive prints with no manual intervention. Out of desperation I thought I would go back to the stock brass nozzle, and since then I've been getting perfect tips with both Hatchbox and eSun PLA. Waseem Zakia over on Facebook shared a video that shows the inside of the Ruby Nozzles, and instantly I noticed how this nozzle could be causing my problems. The top of of the ruby is flat!

I think it's time for me to try a more complex MMU print, so going to start printing Kenny from South Park, https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2459577

Wish me luck. 😀

I did try one of the Prusa supplied Gcodes, and it didn't even use the default startup script that is default in Slic3r. The initial purge line was different. And when filament was sent to the Bondtech gears the MMU would grind the filament. I'm assuming that was because the "Loading Speed at Start", and "Loading Speed" settings for their Prusa PLA settings were at the Slic3r PE default settings of 3mm/s and 14mm/s respectfully. Since I started using 19mm/s for "Loading Speed at Start", and 21mm/s for "Loading Speed", the grinding has stopped. But in any case, the Prusa sliced Gcode I tried failed. This could have been because I was using the Ruby Tipped Nozzle at the time (see earlier reply with regards to using the Ruby nozzle). I admit, I haven't tried Prusa sliced code since switching nozzles back. I may try one again in the near future. 😀
