Hi pingu ,

Printer MK3S +MMU2S was ~1000€ --- so half 500€ not worth ? so we should think about PRUSA prices for some plastic "toys"

Really ? no one what this shit for 50% of original price ? so my conclusion is ...

... If I would have  known this before buy  I would have never ordered this "toy" ... I guess this is a statement about quality and relability ... if you what a toy to play with  buy a "PRUSA" ... if you what a Printer by  something else "

If you're just here to vent and bash the product, nobody's gonna take the bait. Door's over there. This is a community forum made up of users.

You paid for a printer with after-sales support. for that, or, if you want a refund, talk to live chat in the shop. I hear their refund policy is quite good for unhappy customers.

On the other hand, there are many happy users of both products here (myself included) who are more than willing to help if you take the time to actually write an intelligible post with a description of the problems you're having and what you've tried doing to fix them, instead of griping about how bad it is and that it doesn't work.

This guy's only come here to bitch. Check out his post history. This is the guy that took a Sharpie to his Mk3, so keep expectations low. I don't think I'd give 25% for anything he's worked on.

... Seven months ago, *that* thread. Did not realize it was the same guy. But he sure kept "trash" around an awful long time just to come back and gripe 😀

I don't expect an actual reply (but will happily help if I see one), I posted more for informational/organizational reasons for anyone else that stumbles across it in the same boat. At least they'll find a post outlining options instead of an endless bitchfest.

Definitely with you on one point - I would be *incredibly* wary of paying any significant amount of money for someone's printer in this sort of context if I can't see it in person to determine how badly it may or may not have been butchered.

I also agree.  I bought my Prusa a little over 1.5 years ago and love it.  I has a cheap printer that I spent hours on trying to get it to print anything upgrading and doing all kinds of stuff and not once did I get a print out of it.  I bought the Prusa and it's been a work horse need to get a 2nd there are times that I am printing and I wish I had a second.  I also have a MMU and it works fine did a few upgrades to it to make it better, like the double blade upgrade and the festo connectors.  Printed out a different filament bank because I don't have the room behind my printer.  I don't know what this guy is complaining about I had one issue with the display and prusa replaced it without question and I still have the original one (missing a line of text) I bet I could fix it if need be 🙂

Yeah, that display probably got zapped by static. You could replace the 2004 module easily, standard HD44780 interface.

Storytime:

FWIW I've done a general stint in tech support; having been on that side I make it a habit to be friendly to any support/customer service staff. I rarely have a support interaction go bad. The tone in which this thread and OP's other posts were made makes me have my suspicions about that...

You never know what kind of abuse/crap a rep has had to deal with from the previous person, and you make their day just a little better by being human to them. They usually do want to help you, but that willpower vanishes pretty quickly if you are abusive or the first thing you do is rag on the product and call it garbage. One of the best interactions I've ever had was an elderly lady who wanted to get some older software up and running on a newer computer because she had irreplaceable data. She ended up learning about virtual machines, how to set one up, and use it to run her old software (This was in the era of NT-based OS kernels, and terrible '98 and 3.1/DOS program compatibility).

Of course, there is also the other end of the spectrum. I did not tolerate people abusing or insulting techs on my watch (this was a volunteer service, to boot) and have had to step in as flak shield the odd time. I have vague memories of even giving users the boot and telling them they were no longer welcome. I'm sure that would have happened much more had people actually paid for a product of ours or so and felt "ripped off" because it didn't work right and we had their hard earned money.

TL;DR: Be nice to any support person. They have the power to help you. Or not. Being frustrated/angry is fine, even telling the rep that you are is cool, but put it aside and don't direct undeserved ire at them.
