Unload 'slow' error advice

I've basically had no real issues with my MMU2S while running in my LACK enclosure.   As I learn I try and share my adventures.

I was running a five color project and noticed one of the filaments was loading fine but unloading only half way and then slowly trying to unload the rest of the way.  After numerous interventions,  I finally finished the project.  I then noticed that I had the wrong filament type set for that one color (Generic PVA instead of Generic PLA).  So I was satisfied that it was a user error.

My next print using the same filaments with the right settings seemed to be going fine but then the same thing happened to the one filament unload.  I inspected the tip and it was a bit too fat, most likely left over from the previous issue.  I cut the tip while printing another color and everything was now back to normal.

So, a slightly fat tip can be a tricky thing to notice, as opposed to a stringing tip.  A fat tip sort of works but could result in intermittent/slow unload failures.

Lesson learned.

Back to printing.

you might try and increase the mmu idler tension screws a bit to increase the force on the filament

Thank you for the response.  

I did try tightening the tension screws, with no difference.   I also kept checking the buffer side to ensure a clear path.  In addition, I had NO grinding of the filament, which I would have expected.  Since it was a brand new roll of filament and a new filament company for me, I kept considering it was the actual filament itself.   The user error on the previous print led to the fat tip, but it was not obvious how that fat tip would carry over to the next print with the temperature correction applied.

As, I've noted before, I have been having no issues at all with the MMU and it's been operating with very, very few interruptions.  The key point I'm hoping to pass on is that, when in doubt, check the tips (especially mid print).
