Recommended design software for MMU/3MF file generation?

I'm looking for the best design software to generate 3MF files. I started my design journey with Sketchup 2-3 years ago and over time have been coming up against its limitations. I recently upgraded my i3MK3 to a  MK3sMMU2s and saw this as the opportunity to learn a new design suite that was more capable and more MMU friendly. I started learning Fusion 360, but when I went to generate my first multi-part model, I was disappointed to see that multiple .stl files were my only export option (and these are exported separately and disassembled). Autodesk offers a 3MF export option with their "Manufacturing Extension", but that is significantly expensive and I'm just a hobbyist. There is a 3MF plugin for Fusion 360, but it looks like it's Windows based and I'm designing on a Mac. So...

What are all of you MMU/3MF designers out there using?

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

With Fusion 360 you can save all of the .stls files at once by right clicking document settings and under the structure pull down you select "one file per body" .  This saves all of the parts as .STL with the position information intact.

With Prusa slicer,  Do a file open and select all of the .stl files.   The multipart dialog box pops up and you select ok.    All of the parts will be loaded in the correct position.

Then you can do a save project to save as a .3mf file.

This was super helpful, thank you for taking the time to get it down. I had done some searching around, and hadn't found the answer. Prusa has a tutorial on exporting models from Fusion 360:

https://help.prusa3d.com/en/guide/creating-mmu-models-export-model-from-fusion-360_86912

but I don't believe it mentions the "document settings" object, which is the critical part of it. The should revise...

Thank you again.

You can also just export the entire component or multiple parts as one stl in f360. When you import into prusa slicer right click and choose split into parts.
