PVB Supports on PLA / PETG

I have started experimenting with PVB as a support interface material for PLA and am very impressed with the results so far. The supports hold during printing, but break off easily and cleanly (no dissolve required). As an added bonus, it's cheaper and easier to work with than BVOH. 

I'd like to see how far I can go with it, because 1) dissolving support material is no fun at all and 2) I've got to throttle back my filament expenditures. Does anyone have experience using PVB on PETG (or ABS/ASA or Nylon for that matter) ? 

 

 

Prusa is MK4S w/ MMU3 (formerly MK4 / MMU3, MK3S+/MMU2), 2 Prusa MINI+, Octoprint. PETG, PVB, (some) PLA.

Update to my own post, in case someone finds this later - PVB + PETG works pretty well! 

The main caveat is that the bed temperature difference between the two materials means that it is best to start with a raft of PETG (don't worry, it separates from the PVB with no deformation!). There is some stringing on the wipe tower, but this has not prevented successful print completion or blob carry-over to the print itself so far.

The PVB supports remove easily, with a clean separation from main body of the PETG print - so, unlike with PETG supports, I'm not leaving rough artifacts on the print. As with the PLA, no solvent is required to completely remove the supports. They basically just break off.

I think I have found my new support material!!
